Apothecary 87 Shave Oil Review

by

Apothecary 87 sent me this a few months ago to review, I’ve used it for right about that 30 days like I do with all my product reviews. I used it both with and without shaving soap/cream

Apothecary 87 sent this in thair standard box, it’s got a couple of pictures on the sides the instructions as well as the ingredients list on the back along with the product and the scent on the front.  like all their boxes you’ve got a secondary lid inside to help stabilizes the product. The OIl comes in a 1.7 Oz glass container with what is pretty much your standard eyedropper that is made of glass as well.

The scent of this is Apothecary 87’s  1893  I’ve actually really enjoyed this scent in this product and the others as well, basically, it’s sandalwood and vanilla scent.  I really get a sandalwood scent with a very kind of sharp scent of that vanilla coming through and it just really enjoyable sent that definitely kind of fills up the whole room it’s not too strong but you’re definitely going to smell it.

The key ingredients in this shave oil are castor oil, avocado, Cedarwood and vitamin E oils.  Then, of course, all the other ones which I’ve looked them up before and they are pretty standard in a lot of grooming  products The full ingredients list is below

Ingredients:

Castor seed oil, Avocado oil, Perfume(fragrance), Cedarwood Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Linalool, Butylphenyl methylpropional, Benzyl alcohol, Benzyl benzoate, Limonene, Benzyl salicylate, Alpha-isomethyl lolone, Eugenol, Citronellol, Geraniol.

You apply this shave oil just like you would any other, with damp hands put some in the palms of your hands rub your hands together, then in a circular motion apply it to the areas you are going to shave. once you’ve applied the shave oil then apply your lather like you normally would and of course shave with the grain as well.

This shave oil can help moisturize your skin as well and honestly, I think it does a fantastic job of that, in fact, a couple of times when my skin was getting a little dry I would apply a little to my head to give it a little extra moisture.

I like the scent of it, I think that it does a fantastic job of really adding an extra slick layer between your skin and the shaving cream especially if you have shaving cream or shave soap that’s not especially slick this is really good in between. I only had to apply it once even though I go over my face a couple of times when shaving.

Coming in at about 12 Sterling Pounds or about 16 US dollars I think it is it definitely worth that. $16 for just about a 2 oz bottle is actually a pretty fair price in my opinion.

You can pick this up on Apothecary 87s website
