Xtend Beard Beard Balm Review

by

Xtend Beard was nice and sent me three (3) different hold balms for review, However, I will only be reviewing two (2) of them in this review. I will explain the reason later on in this review. I will be reviewing the Medium and Heavy Beard Balms in this written review. as always if you would rather watch the review you can scroll down and watch it there, I go into the same things there.

Packaging:

Xtend Beard beard balms come in a 1.6 oz tin with a screw off lid. This is nice because you’re essentially getting a half oz more then you would from a lot of other balms out there.  The labeling on the balms that I reviewed is the same on both tins. The only Distinguishing marker is a silver (medium) or gold (heavy hold) that is added to the side of the container. If this was to fall off it may be kind of hard to know what one you’re grabbing, however, the stickers are on well and should not come off.

Scent:

The Balms were sent to me in the scent of ONE.  They say the scent notes are warm spicy, Cinnamon, Citrus, leather, amber, and rose.  That’s a complicated smell with allot of scents and Not everyone will smell the same thing. For me, I smelled the Rose with an undertone of leather. I think its a nice light scent that isn’t very strong so shouldn’t bother those with sensitive noses.

Ingredients:

Shea butter, Mango Kernel Butter, Beeswax, Candelila wax, Lanolin, Cocoa Butter, Coconut Oil, Jojoba Oil, Apricot Kernal Oil, Avacado Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Castor Oil, Vitamin E, Fragrance for the scent.  Im guessing that the fragrances are essential oils since they claim to be all-natural. Because they are all-natural you don’t need to worry about putting chemicals in your beard and around your mouth.

Application:

Application is easy like most balms you remove some with your thumb and melt it in between your thumb and fingers and apply to your beard.  Unlike other balms, these two do take a few extra seconds to melt because they are thicker than many typical balms.

My Experience:

My experience was a good one. Both the Medium and Heavy hold balms do a good job of styling the beard and keeping everything in place. I liked the fact that it didn’t get hard in order to keep everything right. there is a stiffness but it feels natural and does not irritate your neck when you look down. I also like that it does not feel oily once applied and dried.  One thing I was surprised about is that they don’t claim they will help you grow a better or longer beard. Now usually I wouldn’t mention this but with a name like Xtend Beard you anything they would however what they do say is ” Promotes healthy natural growth”. Meaning it helps relieve dandruff, itchiness, and irritation.

The Product Left out:

The reason I only reviewed the Medium and Heavy hold is that the light or regular hold had an issue.  During the mixing and melting of the product, It had an issue that caused the beeswax to stay in little balls and mostly not melt and mix with the other ingredients.  This caused it to be Very gritty and not meltdown well and therefore wasn’t something you or I would want to apply to the beard.  (UPDATE) I did get a replacement and I may review it in the future if I do I’ll put it here.

Price:

Although these do run a bit higher price than other balms, I would say that it’s definitely well worth the price due to the fact that both are such great holds and you’re getting  .6 oz more than you typically would.  these sell for $19 USD Pick yours up at the link below.
